Again,Gov. Otu Scores another high with NIPR Highest National Honour of PNIPR

..…as investiture holds March 17

Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has yet again won another National Award as PATRON of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (PNIRP) to add to his growing list of National Honours in recognition of his outstanding leadership, laden with good governance, infrastructural development, due process ,transparency and accountability in the State in line with his “People First” agenda.

The PNIPR is an exclusive award given only to a high performing Governor of a State after a detailed recommendation by the State Chapter of the Institute, clearly stating the various achievements of Governor Bassey Edet Otu in the last two and half years, which profoundly convinced the President and Members of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to elicit their approval to bestow this special award on the State Governor.

The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in a letter granting this award to Governor Bassey Edet Otu and signed by the President and Chairman of NIPR Governing Council, Dr Ike Neliaku and Registrar and Secretary to Council, said "the Governing Council after a thorough analysis of the presentation by Cross River State Chapter of NIPR, is profoundly satisfied that Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Governor of Cross River State has met all the requirements as set in the NIPR establishment Act No.16 of June 1999 now amended by the National Assembly as CAP. 114N Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004".

The official investiture ceremony has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday,17th March,2026 by 11.00am at the Cross River State Executive Council Chambers, Governor's Office, Calabar.

Reacting to this latest National recognition on Governor Bassey Edet Otu, Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Dr Erasmus Ekpang congratulated the Governor for yet another national Award, after the Sun Newspaper and the SilverBird Man of the Year 2025,describing the latest award in 2026 as a huge milestone especially as it is coming from critical minds in a professional Institute".

The Commissioner for Information pointed out that Governor Otu is very poised to deliver creditably on his re- instruction and recalibration agenda for the State.
