Akwa Ibom Health Insurance Agency makes understudy visit to Cross River

In its commitment to learning and improvement of social health insurance, the Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Agency embarked on a two-day understudy visit to the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency.

Dr. Arthur Igbemi, the Executive Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Agency, said the visit (Wednesday and Thursday) was aimed at exploring successful models and strategies that can enhance their own healthcare programmes and services.

The Igbemi-led team which took a unit-by-unit tour the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency, commended and acknowledged its achievements and dedication to providing quality healthcare services the people. He pointed out that such recognition should motivate and encourage the Cross River State team to continue the excellent work.

The Executive Secretary stated that collaboration and knowledge-sharing between states can have a positive impact on the overall healthcare landscape in Nigeria, adding that by learning from each other's successes and challenges, states can develop more effective healthcare systems, ultimately benefiting the citizens they serve.

In a demonstration of cooperation and solidarity, the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency's Director General, Sir Godwin Iyala, welcomed his Akwa Ibom counterpart and assured the delegation of his establishment's preparedness to offer support, share expertise and experience to help Akwa Ibom State improve its healthcare services.

Iyala posited that such collaborative approach can lead to knowledge sharing, where Cross River State can share its successful strategies, best practices, and lessons learned with Akwa Ibom State; help build the capacity of the sister state's health insurance team, enabling them to develop more effective programmes; enhance its healthcare services, ultimately benefiting the people of Akwa Ibom by learning from Cross River state, as well as foster stronger relationships between the two states, promoting a sense of unity and shared purpose in improving healthcare in Nigeria.

The Director General's assurance of assistance reflects a commitment to collective progress and a willingness to support others in achieving their healthcare goals.
