The Wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Associate Professor (Mrs.) Virginia Ironbar, has called on Cross Riverians and residents of the state to continue supporting the administration of Governor Bassey Otu, describing his leadership as one that is steadily repositioning the state to its pride of place among sub-national governments in Nigeria.
Mrs. Ironbar made the appeal while addressing guests on the sidelines of the wedding reception of Mr. Kenneth Kajang, a staff member at the Office of the Chief of Staff and his bride at Ikom Township over the weekend.
The academic, who attended the ceremony as a special guest, said the visible strides of the Otu-led administration across sectors were clear indications of purposeful leadership deserving of collective backing.
She noted that sustainable development thrives in an atmosphere of unity and cooperation, urging citizens to rally round the government to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives.
The wedding ceremony was chaired by elder statesman Ntufam Habe Odu Oji and attracted dignitaries from across the state, including Mrs. Mary Pius, wife of the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, and Mrs. Eka Egbala Bassey, wife of the Chairman of Abi Local Government Council.
Mrs. Ironbar also used the occasion to commend the Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Gilbert Agbor, for what she described as his steady efforts in galvanizing grassroots support for the administration.
She hailed Barr. Agbor’s consistency and proactive leadership, noting that his role in strengthening public confidence and safeguarding government assets has contributed significantly to the stability and progress of the present administration.
The event, which blended celebration with civic engagement, further emphasized the growing alignment of community stakeholders with the developmental vision of the Otu-led government in Cross River State.
