Be Optimistic About Govt Plans - MLGA Boss Charges Executives of Cluster Ministries

The Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Chief Victor-Felix Idem, has called on the executives of the Ministry’s interfacing (cluster) departments and agencies to be more proactive and optimistic regarding the government’s developmental plans.

The Commissioner gave this charge on Thursday during a meeting with the interfacing ministries held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Calabar.

During the interactive session, executives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) sequentially outlined the concerns hindering their progress, collaboration, and service delivery.

They collectively solicited a swift government response to help them perform their duties more proficiently.

In his response, Chief Idem reassured the attendees of the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing these challenges.

He applauded the executives for their selfless service and advised them to formally document persistent issues through the proper channels. This, he noted, would ensure they are submitted to His Excellency the Governor, for prompt and appropriate attention.

The meeting saw high-level participation from across the State's administrative landscape including Ministry of Local Government Affairs Management,Ntunkae Offiong Ani Offiong– Permanent Secretary, Mr. Essien Akiba – Director of Administration, Dr. Joseph Ubi – Director of Procurement, Mr. Okpewuru Kanu – Director of Accounts, Mrs. Ewor Myke – Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Dr. Jacob Udie – Director of Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), Mr. Anthony Ebong – Director of Inspectorate, Mrs. Minika Asuquo Okon, – Director of Audit Department, Mr. Dennis Agbam – Director of Human Resources and Mrs. Veronica Kingsley Bassey – Internal JAAC Auditor

Others were Heads of Commissions and Agencies, Barr.
