Calabar Comes Alive As Otu Lights Up 2023 Xmas Tree

The annual Calabar Festival is gradually gathering momentum as we  enter the yuletide season. The festival celebration began with the Lighting of the Christmas Tree by the State Governor Senator Bassey Otu at the millennium park this morning.

The colourful event heralds the commencement of the 32-day Calabar Festival, an end of the year fiesta which is loaded with of social, educational, cultural and economic activities.

Performing the lighting, the state governor Senator Bassey Otu said the tree lighting ushers us into the festival season tagged "Season of Sweetness" which comes with 32 days of non-stop fun. He enjoined Cross Riverians to savour the beauty and fun of the season while urging tourists and fun seekers to consider Calabar as the place to be this season.

The tree lighting ceremony which was performed at the Millennium Park also brought to life the beautiful aesthetics and decorations round the Capital city bringing to bare the euphoria of the Christmas season.
