Cross River State Commissioner for information, Dr Erasmus Ekpang has pledged to use all available Media platforms and networks to give adequate publicity to the forthcoming 44th Branch Anniversary cum 5th Annual Conference of the Cross River State Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) to give it the attention it deserves.
Dr Ekpang stated this over the weekend in Calabar, when he received in audience the Chairman and two Members of the Central Planning Committee of the 5th CIPM Conference, Mrs Uduak Bassey, Mrs Imelda Ogar and Mrs Imelda Nta respectively in his office.
The Information Commissioner described the upcoming Conference, which will also feature the commemoration of the International Human Resources Day, as very apt and timely, emphasising that the theme of the Conference "Empowering People to lead change in the Public Sector: The Future of Government Human Resources in a AI -Driven Era" is topical with nuggets of huge interest to the People.
He called on Civil Servants, especially those with interest in personnel management and members of the public to take advantage of the Conference to learn new ideas and initiatives that will upscale their management capabilities.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Mrs Uduak Bassey, lauded Commissioner Ekpang for the good work he is doing for the Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu led administration, adding that the Committee's mission was to sensitise the Commissioner and Management team of the Ministry of Information and solicit for their staff attendance at the Conference.
Mrs Bassey, who is also the Cross River State Branch Financial Secretary of CIPM thanked Dr Ekpang for operating an open door policy, which made the Courtesy Visit possible even at short notice.
In her remarks, Mrs Imelda Ogar, Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee and Treasurer of the Cross River State Chapter of CIPM, intimated the Commissioner and his Management team of the membership opportunities available in CIPM and urged all Staff to take advantage of the Conference and get registered into the Professional Body.
According to the duo the Conference which is scheduled to hold from 19th to 20th May,2026 will also feature Health Outreach and Professional Consultations, the International Human Resources Day Celebrations while the second day will feature keynote sessions on AI Driven Human Resources transformation, amongst others.
The Courtesy visit with the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Cross River State was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Anthony Asuquo Okon and other Management staff.
