CR-SUBEB Trains LGA Evaluators, Staff on New Data Collection App

The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB) has organised a training session for Local Government Area (LGA) evaluators and Board staff on the use of the CR-SUBEB Collect App.

The Board's Chairman, Mrs Fidelia Okpo Ene, who was represented by Board Member III, Dr Roselyn Bisong, said the training was aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to use the new digital platform for improved data collection, monitoring and reporting in the basic education sector.

She said the exercise underscores the Board's commitment to embracing technology to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability in its operations.

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) State Coordinator, Dr Omuta Obanovwe, urged participants to take the training seriously and apply the knowledge gained in carrying out their duties.

He stressed the importance of accurate and timely data collection, noting that reliable data is essential for effective planning, informed decision-making and the overall development of basic education. He also encouraged participants to embrace the digital platform and ensure that information uploaded through the application is accurate and up to date.

The State Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Archibong Okon Archibong, highlighted the importance of the app, noting that it would aid comprehensive record-keeping, enhance quality assurance, and help detect and prevent errors in data collection and reporting.

He explained that the application would also help identify challenges and provide a basis for appropriate solutions, thereby strengthening monitoring and evaluation and improving the quality of basic education delivery in Cross River State.

Mr Archibong urged the trainers to guide participants on the effective use of the application to facilitate accurate data gathering and timely reporting.
