C'River: Governor Otu Is Creating Investment Friendly Climate To Accelerate Economic Development - LG Commissioner

The Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Chief Felix Idem says the present administration in Cross River state headed by Senator Bassy Otu is working assiduously towards creating an investment-friendly climate to boost investors' traffic to the state.

Chief Idem opined that such an aggressive drive has become imperative to ensure the optimum exploration of the state's vast potential in agriculture, mining, and tourism to alter the peculiar civil service narrative about the state.

The Local Government Affairs boss dropped the hint in Calabar while speaking as a special guest of honour at the wedding Fatiha between Amira Mohammed and Yusuf Shuaibu in Calabar on Friday.

Chief Victor Idem applauded the Hausa Fulani Community in the Bakoko axis of Calabar Municipality for the cordial and harmonious relationship existing between them and their landlord community.

He expressed delight over the entrepreneurial and peaceful disposition of Hausa Fulani across the state noting that such cordiality has gone a long way in fostering economic growth and development.

According to Chief Idem," The level of integration prevailing in our state between our people and our brothers and sisters from the Northern part of our country is highly commendable and worthy. This is the spirit we need to saturate every nook and cranny of our country.

He further stressed "Our Governor is committed to providing a conducive environment to accommodate every law-abiding Nigerian to live and carry out their legitimate business in our state. We are creating an investment-friendly climate to boost socio-economic development. This is our cardinal focus. We enjoined everyone to key in".

The Local Government Affairs boss admonished the newly wedded couple to love and cherish each other while upholding the tenets of the marriage institution in line with Islam. injunction to guarantee peaceful and blissful marriage.

Speaking, the Head of the Hausa Community in Calabar Municipality, Alhaji Sani Baba Gombe expressed appreciation to the commissioner for the honor and for appointing one of their sons, Alhaji Shuaibu Mohammed as one of his aides.

He applauded Governor Bassey Otu for the humane posture of the new administration as encapsulated in the "people first mantra assuring of the support and cooperation of his people.

In his words" We are happy that Governor Otu opted for the choice of a grassroots mobilizer who can galvanize the electorate to get the needed support for the success of the new administration. With such a square peg in a square hole, our Governor has gotten a man who can transform his dreams for the grassroots into concert realities".

Alhaji Sambo appealed to the government to intervene in arresting the ravine menace ravaging the area to save their lives and property from imminent danger.
