C'River-NCC Launches NOKIA OMNIA Virtual Entrepreneurship Training Programme (ELP) for Youths

The Cross River State Government, in partnership with the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and Nokia, has launched a three-month virtual   Entrepreneurial Learning Programme (ELP)  to equip youth with essential skills for job creation and sustainable livelihoods. An inspiring opening ceremony hosted by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation was held recently, where the Hon. Commissioner, Prof. Justin Atiang Beshel underscored the significance of the training as a milestone achievement for both the Ministry and the State. According to him, the programme is another feather in the cap of the Apostle Bassey Otu-led administration.

 Emphasizing the importance of dedication in their learning journey, he reminded participants that they never know how far the skills acquired could take them and extended gratitude to the NCC and Nokia for their partnership in this endeavor. In his goodwill message at the occasion, the Special Adviser on Social Housing to the Governor, Dr. Prince Ekanem, highlighted Cross River's emerging prominence under Otu’s administration. He noted the positive environment created for partnerships with organizations like Nokia and NCC, urging the youth to recognize the value of the opportunities being presented to them stating that to  whom much is given, much is  expected.

 In her opening remarks, the Director of E-Government in the Ministry, Mrs. Mary Leo-Ekanem expressed appreciation for Governor Otu's commitment to digital transformation in the State and praised Prof. Beshel for tirelessly bringing partners together and changing the narrative for the Ministry and Cross River State as a whole. The Commissioner later officially declared open the virtual training and a group photograph taken to commemorate the occasion where Seventeen participants from each of Nigeria's six geopolitical zones have been selected to embark on this transformative journey, aiming to empower and uplift the community through enhanced skills and job opportunities
