The Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), Rt. Hon. Barr. Alex Ukam, has extended warm New Month greetings to the people of the state, offering prayers for peace, joy, and prosperity in all their endeavours.
In his message, Rt. Hon. Ukam reminded Cross Riverians of the upcoming World Population Day (WPD) 2025, which will be observed on July 11 with the theme: “Real Fertility Crisis.” According to the NPC Commissioner, the theme highlights the urgent need to address the growing fertility challenges and empower citizens with the right information to make informed reproductive health choices.
He stressed that the success of such initiatives relies heavily on accurate population data and a collective appreciation of its importance in shaping Nigeria’s development.
Rt. Hon. Ukam also used the opportunity to call for public support and mobilization toward the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey for a second term in office, citing their people-oriented leadership as a beacon of progress.
He prayed for continued peace and prosperity across the country and in Cross River State and expressed optimism for the success of the forthcoming national population and housing census.
Happy New Month, Cross Riverians!
