Cross River Congratulates CP Rashid Afegbua on Elevation to Assistant Inspector General of Police

The Cross River State Government has congratulated the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Rashid B. Afegbua, on his elevation to the prestigious rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), describing the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary service and outstanding leadership.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, the government said the promotion represents not only a personal milestone in Afegbua’s distinguished policing career but also a moment of pride for the government and people of Cross River State.

The state government commended the newly promoted AIG for his exceptional leadership, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty during his one-year tenure as Commissioner of Police in Cross River, noting that his stewardship contributed significantly to sustaining the state’s reputation as one of the most peaceful places to live in Nigeria.

According to the statement, Afegbua’s relentless efforts in strengthening security, promoting peace and fostering effective collaboration between the Police Command and residents have produced tangible results that continue to enhance public safety and social stability across the state.

“The Government and good people of Cross River State heartily congratulate you on your well-deserved elevation to the prestigious rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police in the Nigeria Police Force. The government further noted that the promotion reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s recognition of Afegbua’s dedication, discipline and visionary approach to policing, as well as his invaluable contributions to the security and stability of both Cross River State and the nation.

It expressed profound appreciation for his service to the state, describing his tenure as one marked by purposeful leadership, operational excellence and a commitment to community-oriented policing.
