The upcoming South-South edition, scheduled for July 21 to 26, 2025, is being co-hosted by Cross River State and NIGCOMSAT. It follows earlier successful editions held in Adamawa and Jigawa states.
The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) says it is set to continue its nationwide engagement with the next edition of its Regional Space-Tech Hackathon and VSAT Training Programme in Cross Rivers State.
A statement by NIGCOMSAT’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Aisha Bantam, says the programme is open to startups, local innovators and university students from the South-South region.
It is aimed at empowering young Nigerians to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges using space-based technologies.
Managing Director/CEO of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, said the five-day event would enable participants to identify community problems, build prototypes, and receive mentorship from industry professionals.
The winning team will qualify for the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme 2025 for further support and project development.
NIGCOMSAT said the initiative was part of its broader mission to harness youth innovation, reduce unemployment and drive inclusive growth in Nigeria’s ICT sector.
