CROSS RIVER MAGISTRATE JUDGES TO UNDERGO TRAINING ON ELECTRONIC EVIDENCES

Magistrate Judges of Magistrate Courts across the 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State are expected to undergo a specialised one-day training on the Principles and Practice of Electronic Evidence in Judicial Proceedings.

The one -day Complementary Virtual Lecture ,which is targeted at Magistrates of the Cross River State Judiciary is to take place on Friday,6th February,2026 at Court 5, inside the State Judiciary Headquarters, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar from 10am

A statement released in Calabar from the office of the State Chief Judge, His Lordship, Honourable Justice Akon Ikpeme, the specialised virtual Training is part of the State Chief Judge's efforts aimed at strengthening Judicial capacity at all levels of the State Judicial Systems.

"The Proposed Lecture will address contemporary issues related to electronic and digital evidence with emphasis on practical adjudication in overcoming the complexities of Electronic Evidence under the Evidence Act 2011 as amended", the Statement read in parts, adding that the Virtual Lecture will be handled by accredited experts from the Forensic Electronic and Digital Law Consultants(FEDLAC)

The State Chief Judge enjoins all Magistrates in the Cross River State Judiciary to attend this specialised virtual Training without fail as it promises to be impactful as well as add great value to existing knowledge.
