Cross River NUJ Celebrates Bishop Otu at 62, Commends Social Impact Initiatives

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, has joined in celebrating the 62nd birthday of the Wife of the Governor, Eyoawan Bassey Otu, describing her as a symbol of compassion, service, and humanitarian excellence.

In a goodwill message signed by the Chairman of the NUJ in the state, Comrade Archibong Bassey, the Union congratulated the First Lady on the milestone, noting that her life has been dedicated to uplifting the vulnerable and promoting social welfare across Cross River State.

The NUJ particularly commended her humanitarian initiatives under her pet project, Humanity Without Borders, which it said has continued to make significant impact in the lives of the poor and underserved through targeted interventions in health, empowerment, and social support.

According to the Union, the First Lady’s consistent commitment to humanitarian service has not gone unnoticed, adding that the media community in the state has been actively documenting and adequately publicising her interventions to ensure wider public awareness and appreciation of her efforts.

It further stated that her initiatives have continued to complement government policies aimed at improving the wellbeing of citizens, especially those at the grassroots.

The Union prayed for God’s continued blessings upon her life, wishing her good health, wisdom, strength, and longevity as she continues her service to God and humanity.

The NUJ expressed confidence that Bishop Otu would sustain and expand her humanitarian footprint in the years ahead, further deepening her impact across communities in the state and beyond.
