The Cross River State Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Justin Beshel, is once again flying the state’s flag high in Abuja, where he is attending the prestigious 2025 Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibition (DNICE) Roundtable, a three-day national convergence of ICT Commissioners and Heads of ICT Agencies from across the federation.
The high-level conference, themed “Innovation for a Sustainable Digital Future: Accelerating Growth, Inclusion and Global Competitiveness,” is designed to inspire and shape a digitally prosperous Nigeria. It serves as a strategic platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners to exchange ideas, strengthen intergovernmental collaboration, and harmonize digital strategies for sustainable national growth.
The event drew an impressive array of dignitaries, including His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, who declared the conference open. Also in attendance were Dr. Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy; Dr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA); Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote, Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).
Others present included captains of industry, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and key stakeholders from the public and private sectors of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Speaking at the Roundtable, Assoc. Prof. Beshel reaffirmed Cross River State’s commitment to advancing digital innovation and inclusive technology. “Our mission is to build a digital Cross River that is globally competitive, inclusive, and future-ready. We are determined to translate innovation into tangible development for our people,” he stated with optimism.
Prof. Beshel’s participation at the DNICE Roundtable affirms Cross River State’s growing visibility as a digital frontier under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State.
Indeed, this appearance marks yet another notable feat in the Governor’s “Season of Sweetness” a period defined by progress, partnership, and innovation that is steadily redefining the digital future of Cross River State.
