Cross River Varsity Deploys Traditional Medicine To Treat Pile, Diabetics, Others

The Arthur Jarvis University in Akpabuyo, Cross River State says it has commenced the use of traditional medicine to treat life threatening illnesses including pile, diabetics, cancer, prostrate and asthma.

The Chancellor of the institution, Sir Arthur Jarvis who disclosed this in Calabar said it's part of their efforts to promote local content and also utilize the wide range of herbs from forest that surround the area.

According to him, the institution has completed a well equipped Institute of Trado Medical Research that will treat diseases.

"As part of our efforts to promote local content, the Governing Council of Arthur Jarvis University had approved the construction and equipping of a standard Institute of Trado-Medical Research within the University Campus.

"The Institute will make use of the wide range of herbs from the surrounding forest resources around the University community and the available Traditional Medical Practitioners within and around our locality to treat some of the life threatening illnesses.

"These include hemorrhoids (pile), prostate, diabetes, asthma, kidney stone, cancer, fibroid, epilepsy, bone fracture/dislocation/setting, etc.

"We are happy to announce to our community and the world at large that our well-equipped Institute of Trado-Medical Research, at our University campus, in Akpabuyo LGA, Cross River State, Nigeria is open for treatment of individuals diagnosed of any of these life- threatening illnesses", he said.

He said the project has been under research for a number of years and they have a 100% cure for most of the ailments we have today.

Also speaking, the acting vice Chancellor of the institution Dr. Joe Edet said the institution is trying to do something different and it's purely about research.
