The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, on Thursday joined the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, as he commenced his official tour of local government areas in the Northern Senatorial District of the state.
The Deputy Governor, accompanied by members of the National and State Assemblies, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), council chairmen, commissioners, and other top government officials from the district, began the tour with a visit to Yala Local Government Area.
During the visit, Rt. Hon. Odey engaged with traditional rulers, stakeholders, and the people of Yala, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to grassroots development and cultural preservation. As part of his support for the community’s heritage and celebration, he generously donated the sum of ₦25 million to assist with preparations for the forthcoming New Yam Festival.
The visit, which was received by the people of Yala, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor for his show of solidarity and support for cultural values and is set to continue across other LGAs in the senatorial district in the coming days.
Hon. Undiandeye praised the Deputy Governor’s hands-on leadership style and emphasized the importance of such visits in bridging the gap between the government and the grassroots.
