The Chairman of the Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB), Dr. Anthony Ngban, has embarked on an inspection tour of the Board's departments and units to familiarize himself with the working environment as part of his administrative duties.
Dr. Ngban was accompanied by Board members, including the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Ekei Okon. Other members present were Board Secretary Mr. Lawrence Nsa, Board Member One Miss Essieanwan ESO Archibong, Board Member Two Mrs. Agube Ignatius, and several directors.
During the inspection, Dr. Ngban expressed that the purpose of the exercise was to get acquainted with staff, their offices, and their job specifications. He noted that some office equipment is outdated and in need of refurbishment to meet modern standards. Additionally, he pointed out that the roof of the office building is leaking and requires urgent intervention, particularly in the offices of the Board members.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Ekei Okon, and Board Secretary Mr. Lawrence Nsa agreed that the tour was timely and necessary for addressing the challenges the Board may be facing.
Directors of Human Resources, Mrs. Offiong Akak, and the Director of the Board Disciplinary Committee, Rev. Nkanu Nkanu, welcomed the chairman and his team, highlighting their job specifications and the vital roles they play in the Board's advancement.
Meanwhile, the Director of Accounts, Mr. Osim Ogar, and the Director of Teaching Services, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, commended the team for taking the time to inspect their offices.
The staff of the Board expressed their delight over the visit, stating that it provided an excellent opportunity to interact with the leadership team.
Offices visited during the inspection included the Administrative Department, Planning, Research and Statistics, School Monitoring and Supervision, Teaching Services, Accounts, and the Guidance and Counseling and Motivation Department, among others.
