The Cross River State Commissioner for Lands, Dr Erasmus Ekpang, has called for greater unity, cooperation and professionalism among members of the Lands Cluster to strengthen land administration and improve revenue generation in the state.
Ekpang made the call during an interaction with members of the Lands Cluster in the Ministry of Lands, as part of efforts to foster collaboration, improve coordination and establish a unified direction for the administration of land matters in Cross River.
The Commissioner said the meeting provided an opportunity to engage members, articulate his vision and expectations for the ministry and encourage collective efforts towards improving land administration processes.
He stressed the need for unity, mutual support and cooperation among members of the cluster, describing them as essential to achieving the objectives of the state government in the land sector.
Ekpang urged members to maintain open channels of communication and avoid practices capable of undermining the collective interests and objectives of the cluster.
During presentations on their respective mandates, the Commissioner described land as a major economic asset and significant source of revenue for the state, stressing the need to identify and address challenges within the cluster in a coordinated manner.
He said such an approach would strengthen land administration processes while creating opportunities for improved revenue generation and more efficient service delivery.
Ekpang also solicited the support of members for Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s land-sector agenda, noting that its successful implementation would depend largely on transparency, professionalism and commitment among stakeholders.
Responding on behalf of the Lands Cluster, the Commissioner for Housing, Dr Mrs Beatrice Igwe, thanked Ekpang for engaging members and creating a cordial atmosphere for collaboration.
Igwe reaffirmed the cluster’s commitment to supporting the administration’s agenda in the land sector, assuring that members would work together with unity and professionalism to advance land administration in Cross River State.
