The Evidence Group, Biase Chapter, has officially launched the Biase BOLD (Building Opportunities Through Learning and Digital Skills) initiative, with 100 youths selected from the 11 wards of Biase Local Government Area to benefit from a 12-week intensive digital skills training programme.
The programme commenced with an orientation ceremony for the beneficiaries ahead of the commencement of training on Monday, November 2, 2026, aimed at equipping young people with practical digital competencies to improve their economic prospects and participation in the emerging digital economy.
Speaking at the orientation, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), Great Ogban, urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity to acquire skills that would make them economically independent and better positioned to support their families.
“This programme presents an important opportunity for these young people to acquire skills that can improve their livelihoods and make them economically independent. I encourage you to take the training seriously and use the knowledge gained to become productive citizens and responsible breadwinners for your families,” Ogban said.
He disclosed that the three-month programme would be supported by 20 dedicated mentors who would provide guidance throughout the training, while essential tools would also be made available to accelerate the beneficiaries’ learning and professional development.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Evidence Group, Bassey Eyoma, who represented the initiator of the organisation, Edem Bassey, charged the participants to demonstrate commitment, discipline and seriousness throughout the programme.
“Your selection is an opportunity that should not be taken for granted. I urge you to remain committed, participate actively and make the best use of the mentors, tools and other resources that will be made available throughout the programme,” Eyoma said.
Over the 12-week period, the beneficiaries will receive practical training in five key areas: Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Data Analysis and Agritech.
The training will be delivered with the support of 20 mentors, providing participants with guidance and exposure to relevant digital tools and skills that can create opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Also present at the orientation was the Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, alongside key executives of the Evidence Group, including its Secretary, Prince Agbor; Head of Women Directorate, Precious Bisong; and Head of ICT Directorate, Great Ewelu.
The Biase BOLD initiative is designed to extend digital skills development opportunities across the 11 wards of the local government area, with the selection of 100 beneficiaries providing a structured pathway for youth capacity development at the grassroots.
The Evidence Group is a grassroots political support organisation focused on engaging Cross River youths in governance, encouraging active participation in the political process and creating awareness of the activities and achievements of the current administration.
