Ex-Obubra APC Chairman, Egor, Dismisses Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Party Loyalty

The immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Mr Denis Egor, has dismissed rumours of his planned defection from the party, reaffirming his unwavering loyalty and commitment to its success ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Egor made this declaration during a meeting with the APC candidate for Cross River Central Senatorial District, Hon. Oden Ewa, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, where he restated his confidence in the party’s leadership and electoral prospects.

The former party chairman said his years of commitment and sacrifices for the APC remained too significant for him to abandon the party, insisting that no amount of persuasion or speculation would change his political allegiance.

“I have invested too much in this party to contemplate leaving it now. Nobody can brainwash me. Our state is an APC state under the very capable leadership of Governor Bassey Otu, and our prospects in the coming elections are far too bright for anyone to contemplate abandoning the party,” Egor declared.

He also described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as being in disarray following the resignation of its state chairman, expressing confidence that the APC would consolidate its political strength across Cross River State.

In his remarks, Hon. Oden Ewa commended Egor for his maturity and steadfastness, urging party members to put aside personal differences and work together to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Ewa stressed that unity and cooperation among party faithful were essential to sustaining the APC’s political advantage in the state, calling on members to remain committed to the collective objective of electoral success.

Also speaking, Agbor urged Egor to remain steadfast in the APC, expressing confidence that the party would record victories in the forthcoming elections.

“Nobody swims and drowns at the seashore,” Agbor remarked, using the expression to encourage Egor to remain committed to the party as it works towards its anticipated electoral success.

Agbor further called on progressive-minded Cross Riverians to consolidate their support for the Otu administration, arguing that a united political front was necessary to address godfatherism, division and underdevelopment, which he attributed to the activities of fragmented opposition figures in the state.

He maintained that Governor Otu was steering Cross River State in the right direction and urged party members to strengthen their cooperation in support of the administration and the APC’s electoral ambitions.

Other personalities present included Wani Enang; Nsiyan Ogar, popularly known as Dubest; and George Sunday, among others.
