The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, has congratulated Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu on his 67th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader whose people-centred administration continues to inspire hope for a prosperous state.
Ayuk, in a birthday message to the governor, commended his commitment to good governance and the welfare of the people, noting that his leadership reflects a determination to build a state where citizens can enjoy better living standards.
The commissioner said Otu’s People First philosophy demonstrated that effective leadership was rooted in service, compassion and a genuine commitment to the needs of the people. He described the governor’s vision for a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Cross River State as a source of renewed hope for residents.
Expressing appreciation for the governor’s support for the health sector, Ayuk said, “Your administration’s investments in healthcare infrastructure, human resource development and primary healthcare delivery reflect your understanding that the health of our people is fundamental to the progress and prosperity of our state.”
He noted that the governor’s commitment to improving access to quality medical services had strengthened efforts to reform the state’s healthcare system, improve health institutions and expand access to essential services, particularly for vulnerable populations.
“Your support for the health sector has provided renewed momentum for reforms aimed at improving healthcare delivery, strengthening health institutions and ensuring that our people, particularly the most vulnerable, have better access to essential health services,” the commissioner stated.
Ayuk maintained that a healthy population remained indispensable to sustainable development, adding that Otu’s commitment to healthcare demonstrated his appreciation of the sector’s strategic importance to the wellbeing of the people and the state’s overall development.
“It is a privilege to serve under a leader who recognises that a healthy population is indispensable to sustainable development,” he said, expressing confidence that continued government support would enhance the delivery of accessible and quality medical services across the state.
The commissioner prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, sound health and strength for the governor, expressing hope that his 67th year would usher in greater accomplishments and fulfilment. “May He preserve you, enlarge your capacity for service, and bless your years ahead with greater accomplishments and enduring peace,” Ayuk prayed.
He wished Otu a happy 67th birthday, expressing optimism that the governor would continue to lead Cross River State towards a brighter and more prosperous future. He also prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the governor and the state.
