Gov. Otu Flags Off Nde Community Electricity Rehabilitation in Ikom

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has flagged off the rehabilitation of electricity in Nde community, Ikom Local Government Area.

The project is part of his administration’s effort to restore and stabilize power supply in rural communities, thereby improving living standards and boosting socio-economic activities across the State.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor during the Flag off ceremony, the Director General of the State Electrification Agency, Mr. Francis Ekpo, urged the people of Nde to take ownership of the project, cautioning that Government’s huge investment in infrastructure would amount to waste if vandalism and sabotage continued, appealing to youths and elders to safeguard facilities within their community.

Mr. Ekpo reaffirmed the Governor’s commitment to his People First mantra, stressing that the present administration is determined to improve the welfare of citizens by ensuring equitable access to basic amenities, including electricity.

In his remarks, the Clan Head of Nde, His Royal Highness , Engr. Bassey Nas, alongside the Councillor representing Nde Ward, pledged that no government property in the community would be vandalized again.

They assured that the people are ready to collaborate with the state government to guarantee the success of the project.

Also lending his voice, Engr. Innocent Inaku, Manager of the Ogoja Sub-Region, commended Governor Otu for the timely intervention and promised full technical support to ensure the sustainability of the electricity project.
