Gov Otu’s Wife Empowers 100 Women, Appreciates Their Support

As part of the 2nd year anniversary of the Governor Otu’s administration, the wife of the State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has empowered 100 women across the 3 Senatorial District with Moniepoint POS and a start-up cash of N20,000.00 in appreciation to Team Mma-Adiaha support group, describing them as the foundation upon which the journey of service is built.

Carrying out the gesture during a meet and greet with members of the Team Mma Adiaha group at her office at Moore Road, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu added “you organised the grassroots, inspired trust in our message, mobilised women, youths, elders, even sceptics and naysayers. You defied the odds and stood by us.”

According to her, “two years ago, when we embarked on this journey, we believed that the voices of women when united could rewrite the political narrative of our dear State, my husband, His Excellency’s emergence as Governor was not by power nor might but by the grace of God; the undaunted dedication and support of committed hearts like yours.”

Bishop Eyoanwan Otu speaking further, informed that “over the past two years, we have led impactful interventions across our core thematic areas of Quality Health, Quality Education, Sustainable Livelihood, Social Welfare and Environment across the 3 senatorial districts.”

She assured that these interventions are only the beginning, as real power lies in the unity and networks of Team Mma Adiaha which has proven that when women rise, society is transformed.

Speaking earlier in her welcome address, the Director General of Team Mma-Adiaha and Commissioner for Social Welfare, Bishop Margaret Ene Ita described the Governor’s wife as a leader who has “chosen to embrace her role with genuine compassion, humility and a deep commitment to service, a beacon of hope and a symbol of care for countless individuals across the State.

In her words, “from your tireless efforts in championing the welfare of women and children to your unwavering support for education, healthcare and empowerment initiatives, your impact is not only seen, but deeply felt.”

“you have walked with the people, listened to their needs and always responded with action. You have inspired the discouraged, uplifted the vulnerable, and reminded us all even the TEAM ADIAHA GROUP that leadership is best defined by service,” she added.

Bishop Ene Ita lauding the Governor’s wife avowed that “many lives have been touched by your kindness, whether through community outreach programs, health drives, skill acquisition projects, or simply your encouraging words.”

In the separate remarks, the Coordinators of the Southern, Central and Northern Senatorial Districts of the State extolled the humanitarian gestures of Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, from the Back-to-school for pupils of public primary schools, to the free medical outreach and social welfare to the vulnerable members of the society.

They separately lauded Her Excellency’s agricultural empowerment and equal opportunities for all women in the State, appreciating her commitment to ensuring that food items and other benefits get the interior of the Northern parts of the state, assuring that 2027 is a done deal as they will mobilize every woman to rally support for Governor Bassey Otu.

Highpoint of the gathering was a beautiful performance and rendition of sonorous songs by the Kiddies Music Festival, as well as the distribution of food items, wrappers and transport fare to every member of the team.
