All is set for a grand political rally in Obudu as Governor Bassey Otu, his Deputy Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, and APC State Chairman Barr. Alphonsus Eba lead top government officials and party faithful to an endorsement rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the "People First" leadership of Governor Otu and Deputy Governor Odey.

The much-anticipated event, scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Obudu Council Secretariat Field, Obudu, is being organized to showcase overwhelming grassroots support for both the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu-led federal administration and the People First Agenda of the Otu-led Cross River State government.

Thousands of party members, youth groups, women organizations, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders from Obudu Local Government, the Northern Senatorial District, and beyond are expected to attend the rally.

Chairperson of the Central Planning Committee and Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, described the rally as a powerful platform for stakeholders to reaffirm their unwavering loyalty to the APC and to the leadership of Governor Otu and his deputy as well as President Tinubu.

Also speaking ahead of the rally, senior APC chieftain and CPC member, Hon. Chief Dr. Tony Undiandeye, emphasized the significance of the gathering; “This endorsement rally is more than a political show, it’s a celebration of good governance, peace, and inclusive leadership. Governor Otu has demonstrated commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructure, and grassroots development. We in Obudu are proud to reaffirm our support.”

In addition to Governor Otu and his deputy, several dignitaries are expected to deliver goodwill messages, including Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, APC Chairman Barr. Alphonsus Eba, and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar.

The event will feature cultural performances, solidarity speeches, and public endorsements from youth groups, political blocs, and community leaders, signaling strong party unity ahead of future political contests.

Security and logistics arrangements have been finalized to ensure a peaceful and successful rally. Political observers say the event will further cement the popularity of the Otu-led administration, particularly in the northern region of the state, and highlight the growing alignment between the federal and state governments under the APC.
