Dr. Innocent Eteng, the Head of Service (HoS) for Cross River State, has called on staff at the Cross River State Liaison Office to take proactive steps in advancing the State’s progress.
The HoS who gave the charge during his visit to the Liaison Office in Abuja on Tuesday, emphasized the commitment of the Governor Bassey Otu-led administration to enhancing the welfare of civil servants and urged them to demonstrate renewed commitment and diligence in their roles.
Dr. Eteng stressed that under his leadership, the Civil Service will not tolerate indiscipline or absenteeism, reaffirming his determination to uphold rigorous standards of service.
Addressing concerns raised by staff regarding the implementation of promotions and the integration of casual workers into the mainstream Civil Service, the HoS assured them that these issues would receive prompt attention.
He firmly stated that no civil servant should engage in monetary transactions related to promotions or implementation processes, labeling such practices as illegal and punishable.
In her remarks, Mrs. Sarah Archibong, Special Adviser to the Cross River State Liaison Office, praised the HoS for the ongoing reforms within the State’s Civil Service and his clear dedication to improvement.
Represented by Deputy Director of Administration, Mrs. Ekpoanwan Effiong, the Special Adviser pledged that staff would support Governor Otu’s initiatives by remaining dedicated to their duties and addressing areas that require improvement.
She thanked the HoS for taking the time to meet with the staff, noting that his visit would serve as a significant morale booster.
