To enhance professionalism and broaden the knowledge of administrative officers in the State, the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions recently concluded the compulsory examination for Administrative and Professional Officers; The examination which held at the Calabar Preparatory International School, was aimed at strengthening professionalism, competence and efficiency among public officers in the State. The exercise is in line with the commitment of the Governor Otu-led administration to enhance capacity building and effective service delivery in the State Civil Service. Declaring the examination open, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Donatus Esu, charged the officers to approach the exercise with seriousness, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility. He commended the Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Hon. Lawrencia Ita, for her vision, commitment and dedication towards repositioning the Ministry and strengthening the capacity of Civil Servants. Candidates who participated in the two-day were examined on; Federal and State Legislative Law, Nigerian Constitution and Administrative Law, and General Principles and Techniques of Management. Other papers were; Personal Management in Government, Financial Management in Government, and Security in Government. The overall objective of the examination is for administrative and professional officers to contribute to an improved performance and effective service delivery in Cross River State Public Service.
