The Cross River State Commissioner for Water Resources, Obol Dr. Moses Osogi, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, expressing confidence in a brighter and more prosperous future for the country.
In a goodwill message issued in Calabar on Wednesday, Osogi, on behalf of his family, the Permanent Secretary, management and staff of the Ministry of Water Resources, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, members of the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council and Nigerians across the country.
The Commissioner also extended his felicitations to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu; his deputy, Dr. Peter Odey; Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem; members of the 10th Assembly; chairmen of the 18 local government areas; and other democratic stakeholders across the state.
Osogi described the anniversary as more than a celebration of Nigeria’s sovereignty, saying it also offers an opportunity for citizens to reflect on their collective responsibility to build a stronger, more prosperous and united nation.
According to him, the country’s continued progress requires a shared commitment to democracy, good governance, peace, unity and sustainable development.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Water Resources to delivering on its mandate through effective policy implementation, sustainable water management, improved access to water resources and innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the quality of life of Cross Riverians.
The Commissioner said the Ministry would continue to support the socio-economic development of the state by strengthening service delivery and promoting responsible management and utilisation of water resources.
He urged Nigerians to use the anniversary to renew their commitment to nation-building, stressing that the task of building a better country requires the collective efforts of government, institutions and citizens.
“Together, we shall continue to advance the vision of a Nigeria where every citizen thrives in dignity and opportunity,” he stated.
Osogi expressed optimism about the country’s future, urging Nigerians to remain committed to initiatives and policies that promote national growth, unity and shared prosperity.
He wished the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Cross River State and Nigerians at home and abroad continued peace, progress and prosperity, while assuring Cross Riverians of the Ministry’s continued commitment to the development of the state’s water resources sector.
