As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, the anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey of stability, growth and development, as well as the resilience demonstrated in overcoming challenges of varying degrees.
We are also blessed in Cross River State to have Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Governor, whose administration has continued to promote good governance and development across the state.
On behalf of the Cross River State House of Assembly Service Commission, the Chairman, Ntufam Hon. Victor Okon, congratulates the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Vice President, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, GCON, on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
He also felicitates with the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his Deputy, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem; the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Akon Ikpeme; and all Honourable Members of the Cross River State House of Assembly.
The Chairman further extends his warm felicitations to members of the State Executive Council, public servants and all Cross Riverians at home and abroad.
He described the anniversary as a celebration of Nigeria’s sovereignty and democratic journey, noting that the country’s progress over the past 66 years has been sustained by the resilience, diversity and determination of its people.
According to him, the task of nation-building is a collective responsibility that requires unity, patriotism, mutual respect and a shared commitment to the development of the country.
He therefore called on Nigerians to continue to uphold the spirit of unity for which the nation is known, while supporting efforts that promote peace, stability, economic growth and sustainable development.
He wished Nigerians a peaceful and memorable 66th Independence Anniversary and prayed for continued progress and prosperity for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Cross River State.
