OANA Meets with Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council

Today, the Executives of the Obudu Association in North America (OANA) held a strategic meeting with the Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Amb. Peter Undiandeye.

During the engagement, the Chairman presented his scorecard in office, highlighting his administration’s achievements, investment opportunities in Obudu, and the challenges currently being addressed. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Obudu diaspora community to accelerate the growth and development of both Obudu and Cross River State.

Hon. Undiandeye reiterated that the administration of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, is firmly committed to ensuring that Cross Riverians in the diaspora are given their rightful place through the establishment of the Cross River Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM). He noted that the Commission is working tirelessly to foster trust, strengthen relationships, and promote collaboration between the state and its diaspora community.

In her remarks, the President of OANA, Mrs. Barbra Bepeh Obot, expressed appreciation for the historic nature of the meeting, describing it as the first of its kind. She commended the Chairman for his achievements within a short period in office and assured him of OANA’s continued support. Mrs. Obot pledged that the Association would do everything within its capacity to ensure that Hon. Undiandeye becomes one of the most successful chairmen in Obudu’s history.

The Association also expressed its desire to maintain regular engagement with the Chairman and extended a formal invitation for him to attend next year’s OANA Convention.
The meeting was coordinated by the Diaspora Focal Person (DFP) for Obudu Local Government Area, Mr. Apuye Angiating, who also conveyed the best wishes of the Chairman of the Cross River Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM) to the Association. In attendance were notable personalities including; Mr. Godwin Obot (Texas), Prof. Mondy Gold (New Jersey), Mr. Godwin Iklaki and Mr. Apuye Angiating (Maryland), Mr. Ajang, and Mr. Noel Ugbong (Supervisor for Information and Tourism, Obudu LGA).
