The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has joined the global community in celebrating the 2025 International Youth Day, extending warm greetings to all youths of Obudu both at home and in the diaspora.
This year’s celebration, with the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”, resonates strongly with the Chairman’s vision of youth inclusiveness and community driven development.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Undiandeye hailed the youths as “the heartbeat of our community and the architects of our shared future”, stressing that their creativity, resilience, and leadership are critical in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the grassroots.
“The role of our youths in driving local action for the SDGs cannot be overstated. My administration is committed to ensuring that young people are not just beneficiaries of development but active partners in shaping policies, implementing programmes, and delivering sustainable results for Obudu,” the Chairman stated.
He reaffirmed his government’s resolve to invest in education, skills development, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship as platforms for empowering the youths to contribute meaningfully to both local progress and the global agenda.
Hon. Undiandeye further called on all stakeholders, traditional institutions, community leaders, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen collaboration with young people in order to accelerate development and build an inclusive, prosperous future for Obudu.
While congratulating the youths on this special day, the Chairman urged them to remain focused, united, innovative, and law abiding reminding them that “the greatness of Obudu lies in the strength of its youths.”
