In continuation of his empowerment drive which is aimed at improving the livelihoods of young people in Obudu Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, has empowered Mr. Fidelis Adie with a brand new motorcycle.
The brief but significant event occurred at the council lodge, where the chairman, in the company of other government appointees, officially handed over the keys and documents of the new (Daylong) motorcycle to Mr. Adie.
Speaking during the presentation, the council chairman, Hon. Undiandeye emphasized his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, socioeconomic development, and poverty reduction in the area. He noted that equipping young people with tools for self-reliance remains one of his major priorities which aligns with the 'People First' mantra of Governor Bassey Otu.
Responding, the beneficiary, Mr. Fidelis Adie, who hails from Bebuabie village, in Ipong ward, expressed deep appreciation to the chairman for the kind gesture, describing the support as life-changing. “This motorcycle will help me a great deal. I’m grateful to my boss the chairman for remembering someone like me,” he said emotionally.
Highpoint of the event was the formal presentation of the motorcycle including key and document to the beneficiary by Commrade Joseph Odama, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House Of Assembly. He commended the chairman’s inclusive leadership style and called for continued support to ensure more lives are touched positively.
