The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has been honoured with the Grass Root Leadership Award by the School of General Education, Federal College of Education (FCE), Obudu.
The award was presented during the 5th International Conference of the School of General Education, FCE Obudu, in recognition of the Chairman’s impactful leadership and commitment to grassroots development in Obudu Local Government Area.
A summarized citation highlighting his achievements was read by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. Ikwen Atuaka, who described Hon. Dr. Undiandeye as a distinguished scholar, seasoned geologist, and visionary leader. The citation noted that he studied Petroleum Geophysics and Business Management at the University of Calabar, where he later obtained a Ph.D. in Geology, laying a strong academic foundation for his career in public service.
It further highlighted that since his election as Executive Chairman in 2024, his administration has recorded significant strides in grassroots development, including infrastructure improvement, provision of solar-powered boreholes, support for healthcare and education, youth empowerment, and initiatives that promote peace and unity across Obudu.
The award was presented by Dr. Marcellinus Agim and received on behalf of the Chairman by the Secretary of Council, Mr. Emmanuel Aben.
The recognition underscores the growing appreciation of Hon. Dr. Undiandeye’s leadership and his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the people of Obudu Local Government Area
