The Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb) Peter Undiandeye, has commended the wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Her Excellency Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for her continued support to the people of Obudu.
Represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Rhoda Ashong, the Chairman gave the commendation on Sunday at the Obudu German Hospital during an empowerment exercise for 300 workers of the Obudu Urban Development Authority (BUDA). In her remarks, Hon. Ashong expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Governor’s wife for her benevolence, recalling her repeated visits to Obudu.
“If I’m not mistaken, this is your third visit to Obudu. You have brought free medical outreach with qualified doctors, and today you are here again with empowerment for our mothers. May God continue to bless you always and bless your administration,” she said.
Her Excellency, Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, in her address, reassured the workers of her office’s commitment to clearing the backlog of stipends owed to them. She further emphasized her passion for grassroots empowerment and pledged continued support to ensure that communities and workers are strengthened to carry out their duties effectively.
The Governor’s wife distributed bags of rice, wrappers, POS terminals, and start-off funds to the BUDA workers, an act that drew praise from community members and stakeholders present. They lauded her unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of Obudu people.
