The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, has officially sworn in Five (5) newly appointed executive members of the council, urging them to discharge their duties with utmost diligence, integrity, and commitment to the people.
They are; Mr. Noel Ugbong, Supervisor Information, Orientation, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Chris Ishado, Supervisor For Youths and Sports, Mr. Ashipu Francis, Supervisor for Budget Planning, Research, Statistics and Due Process, Hon. Emmanuel Adinya, Supervisor For Water Resources and Sanitation, Mr. Sunday Olim, Supervisor For Transportation
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat on Friday, brought together council officials who witnessed this historic moment of leadership transition and expansion.
In his address, Hon. Undiandeye reminded the new appointees that their selection was based on competence, trust, and the need to strengthen governance at the grassroots.
“This assignment is not a reward but a responsibility,” he stated. “The people of Obudu are watching, and history will remember what you do with this opportunity. Let your actions reflect the trust reposed in you.”
The Chairman emphasized his administration’s ongoing commitment to transparency, community empowerment, youth inclusion, and service delivery. He called on the new executives to align with his vision of accountable and people-centered governance.
Speaking on behalf of the sworn-in supervisors, Mr. Noel Ugbong expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in them as they pledged to work collaboratively to advance the council’s development agenda.
“We are deeply honoured by this appointment and do not take it lightly. On behalf of my colleagues, I pledge that we will carry out our duties with all our hearts, with seriousness, and with unwavering diligence,” he said.
The ceremony marks another key milestone in the Undiandeye-led administration’s efforts to reposition local governance and bring decision-making closer to the people.
