OBUDU RALLIES BEHIND DAUGHTER AT OGOJA FASHION WEEK

In a remarkable display of unity and cultural pride, the people of Obudu Local Government Area in Northern Cross River State have thrown their full weight behind their daughter, who is proudly competing in the Tailoring Category of the prestigious Ogoja Fashion Week.

Representing Obudu under the Casuals and Afrocentric themes, Queen Agba Rita Ikaiwum has chosen to showcase the elegance of the Obudu traditional attire, a vibrant ensemble that speaks volumes of the rich heritage and identity of our area.

In line with the event’s participation guidelines, competitors are required to present photographs in their traditional outfits representing their local government areas. These photographs will be shared on the conveners’ official Facebook page, where public engagement through likes will play a crucial role. The winning images from each local government will ultimately be featured on the grand billboard for the event.

The featured image of the Obudu contestant captures the beauty of the traditional wrapper, bead accessories, and locally styled hair, a combination that tells the story of the our history, artistry, and pride.

From community elders to the youth, the message across Obudu is clear: this is not just a competition, it is an opportunity to place Obudu’s cultural beauty on a regional stage. Support is pouring in from all corners, with the hope that her representation will not only win votes but also etch Obudu’s elegance into the heart of Ogoja Fashion Week.

Obudu stands as one, celebrating culture, talent, and the enduring spirit of our people.
