Senator Williams Eteng (APC - Cross River) has challenged the chairmen that will emerge from the outcome of Saturday's Local Government election in Cross River to compliment the developmental strides of Gov. Bassey Otu.
This is just as the APC chairmanship candidate for Calabar Municipality, Mr James Anam promised to replicate Otu's developmental strides in the council area if elected.
Eteng who represents Cross River Central in the National Assembly (NASS) states this shortly after casting his vote at his Atuma polling unit, Nkpani ward in Yakurr local government.
He said with the council complimentary role is the quickest way to realising the governor's vision for transforming the state.
Eteng lauds the Cross River Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) over the conduct of the local government election.
"It has been a very good exercise so far so good from where I am, I don't know about other places.
"On my end, may becuase I am involved , and you know when I'm involved people gather, when I got into the community yesterday (Friday), I spoke with them, I told them to come out and vote not minding what the outcome is.
"The turn out was impressive and security situation in Nkpani where I have my eyes on has been very peaceful, no violence, no ballot box snatching, everything has been very smooth," he stated.
On his part, Anam who described the entire process as encouraging, said he jas done all nedee for him to emerge victorious.
"We have told the people of their choice to elect someone who will give them good governance and make Calabar Municipality a better place for all
"I am fully charged for the position because the rot in the Local government is visible fior even a beginner to notice except you do not understand the lyrics of governance.
"I am coming from a sector where things where done properly. So, I intend to make sure that Calabar Municipality changes from what it is to a better place.
"Besides, you know the intentions of Governor Bassey Otu is to transform the entire state, in a bid to make us go back to what we are know for as a people.
