State Energy Commissioners Push For Advancements In Power Sector

Arising from a two- day roundtable event in Abuja, Commissioners for Power in Nigeria have stated the determination of state governments to drive significant advancements within the power sector and ensure equitable access to affordable and dependable electricity for all Nigerians.

Speaking at the end of the roundtable event, the Cross River state Commissioner for power and Renewable Energy and Chairman Forum of Commissioners for Power, Hon. Prince Eka Williams, while on a courtesy visit on the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, expressed appreciation to the Minister for unwavering commitment to collaborating with States in addressing the prevalent power challenges across the country.

On behalf of his colleagues, Williams shared insights into both the challenges encountered and successes recorded within the power sector and sought for valuable guidance and support from the Ministry of Power. He briefed the Minister on the outcomes of the meeting and identified key strategies to enhance access to reliable and sustainable power supply in the respective states.

The roundtable opened Tuesday in Abuja, the nation's capital with all the State Commissioners for Power in attendance and the Minister of Power declaring the event open.

The event jointly organized by government , DisCos and the Rural Electrification Agency, REA and the Federal Ministry of Power has as it's theme "Fostering Collaboration and Partnership to Enhance Rural Electrification Access in Nigeria".
