STATE GOVERNMENT PROJECT MONITORING COMMITTEE VISITS OBUDU, INSPECTS PROJECTS EXECUTED BY LGA CHAIRMAN

The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Cross River State Government, headed by Mr. Ralph Murphy, Special Assistant to the Governor on Programs, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, has undertaken an inspection tour of projects executed by the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area in less than one year in office.

Speaking during the exercise, the leader of the team, Mr. Murphy commended the efforts of the Council Chairman for embarking on people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of constituents. He noted that the visit was in line with the Governor’s directive to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper supervision of projects across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

The committee inspected various completed and ongoing projects within Obudu, ranging from infrastructure rehabilitation, community development initiatives, to social intervention programs aimed at improving living standards. Mr. Murphy stressed that the essence of the monitoring exercise was not only to verify the existence and quality of projects but also to ensure that public funds are judiciously utilized.

“The Governor has placed priority on grassroots development, and what we have seen here today shows that Obudu is keeping faith with that vision. These projects are testimonies of responsive governance, and the people stand to benefit directly,” Murphy stated.

Hon. Undiandeye, while addressing newsmen during the visit, expressed gratitude to the Governor for supporting the council with the needed resources to drive development. He reiterated his commitment to continue delivering projects that meet the pressing needs of his people.

Residents of the area who spoke during the monitoring tour also applauded the council leadership for positively touching various sectors, particularly road maintenance, water supply, and empowerment programs.

The monitoring team assured that a detailed report of their findings would be submitted to the Governor for record purposes and further guidance.
