STUDENT FROM OBUDU WINS GOVERNOR OTU'S ESSAY COMPETITION ON LOCAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

A brilliant student from Obudu Local Government Area has emerged the winner of the 5th edition of Governor Bassey Otu's Annual Essay Competition on Local Content Development. Patrick Alouyongbishi Anthony, a SS3 student of Federal Government Girls College, won the overall first prize of N500,000.

The competition, facilitated by Special Adviser on Local Content, Amb. Awatt Caleb, drew participation from over 70% of schools in the state, with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) supervising the exercise. The topic focused on areas accelerating development and driving socio-economic growth, aligning with the 'People's First' Content agenda.

The principles of the winning schools and parents were overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears of joy and appreciation for Governor Bassey Otu and Amb. Awatt Caleb's initiative. Their reactions underscores the positive impact of parental engagement on students' academic achievements.
