Ugep Women in Politics Commend Arikpo’s Appointment, Reaffirm Support for Gov Otu’s Administration

A delegation of Ugep Women in Politics on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon. Dodeye Ikpi Arikpo, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and promote greater participation of women in governance and development.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Madam Blessing Okama congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment and expressed their support and commitment to the development of Cross River State.

She stressed the need to create more opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to governance and community development.

The women further expressed their willingness to collaborate with the Ministry and support the programmes and policies of the administration of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, particularly those aimed at advancing the welfare and development of women in the State.

Responding, Hon. Dodeye Arikpo, appreciated the women for the visit and commended them for their support and commitment to the progress of the State.

He described Ugep women as industrious and educated, and assured them of his readiness to work with relevant bodies to advance the development of the State.

The Commissioner reiterated the importance of unity and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable development, noting that women have key roles to play in the growth and advancement of Cross River State.

The visit concluded with a prayer session by the women, seeking God’s guidance and wisdom for the Commissioner as he begins this new chapter of service.
