Obudu Council Chairman Congratulates Chief of Staff, Other Awardees at Boki New Yam Festival

The Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has congratulated the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Emmanuel Ironbar, on his conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Otu Kinwang I of Boki Nation.

Speaking in an interview on the sidelines of the colourful ceremony organized as part of the 2025 Boki New Yam Festival by the Beebo and Bumaji communities in collaboration with the Phillip Obi Foundation, Undiandeye described the honour as well-deserved and a call to greater service to humanity and for the overall interest of Cross Riverians.

He praised the Boki Traditional Rulers Council, led by its Chairman and Paramount Ruler, HRM Otu Fridalin Akando, for recognizing leaders whose contributions continue to impact lives positively.

The Member representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency, Hon. Sir Victor Abang, and his Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara counterpart, Hon. Peter Akpanke also bagged chieftaincy tittles.

Undiandeye further commended the gesture as consistent with the “People First” mantra of Governor Bassey Otu’s administration.

He also extended warm congratulations to other awardees, including Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Sen. Eteng Jonas Williams, Hon. Oden Ewa, Hon. (Mrs.) Beatrice Eti-Eka Nyaim, Hon. Cletus Obun, Hon. Ankpo Pius, Barr. Ekpeyoung Akiba, Barr. Attah Ochinke, High Chief Henry Igelle Onwe (Ph.D.), Engr. Chief Kelvin Osang Njong (JP), Dir. Obi Ayuk, Hon. Sammy Ankwo, Michael Eshua Eban, and Mr. Pascal Kijie Bubua.

Similarly, he lauded the Phillip Obi Foundation, led by Hon. Bette Phillip Obi, for partnering with the communities to host the Boki New Yam Festival in such a grand and unifying style.
