The Cross River State Commissioner for Water Resources, Obol Hon. Moses Osogi, has identified commitment, professionalism and teamwork as critical to restoring sustainable and potable water supply across the state.
Osogi stated this during his inaugural meeting with the management and staff of the Ministry of Water Resources following his assumption of office as the newly appointed Commissioner.
Addressing the staff, the Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment, assuring that he would work collaboratively with the ministry’s management and workforce to achieve the ultimate goal of restoring water supply across the state.
He described access to safe and reliable water as a critical responsibility of the ministry, noting that potable water was fundamental to public health, sanitation, economic productivity and the overall well-being of citizens.
Osogi urged staff to demonstrate dedication, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties, stressing the importance of punctuality, transparency, accountability and effective communication in achieving the ministry’s objectives.
The Commissioner called for stronger collaboration among departments and units, noting that the challenges confronting the water sector required a coordinated, professional and solution-oriented approach.
He also encouraged staff to bring forward innovative ideas and professional recommendations capable of improving service delivery, assuring them that their expertise and experience would be valued in the formulation and implementation of the ministry’s programmes and policies.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Gabriel Ukwada, welcomed the Commissioner and congratulated him on his appointment.
Ukwada assured the Commissioner of the cooperation and support of the management and staff, expressing confidence that the ministry would work with him to advance the administration’s efforts to improve water supply and service delivery across Cross River State.
