You Can ‘Use And Drink’ – CRSWBL Says Water Good For Consumption

The Cross River State Water Board Limited (CRSWBL) has urged residents of the State to start using and drinking their supplied water after undergoing test runs and purification.

CRSWBL on December 14, 2023, said it will soon test-run the Water Treatment Plant with the newly installed components, warning the general public not to use yet.

But less than a month, in a press release issued by Elder Roger Emori, the Director of Public Relations/Corporate Communications of Water Board said the public water supply is now fit for human and domestic consumption after a thorough check, test, and analysis.

The Management of the Board reiterated its commitment to providing safe, clean, and sustainable urban and semi-urban water supply in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal-6, by the year 2030.

Members of the public are however enjoined to report leaking pipes and any form of vandalism.

The release reads in parts: “Following our earlier Press Releases and our promise to officially announce to the public when our water is confirmed fit and ready for human consumption, the Cross River State Water Board Limited, after a thorough check, test, and analysis, is pleased to inform all our esteemed customers, clients, and the general public that our water is well treated, clean and safe for human and domestic consumption. Therefore, DRINK IT AND USE IT.

“The Board reiterates her commitment to providing safe, clean, and sustainable urban and semi-urban water supply in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal-6, by the year 2030 and His Excellency Senator Bassey Otu’s People First Agenda.

“In order to serve you better, we hereby welcome your continuous patronage and solicit your direct cooperation by reporting all cases of leakages, vandalization, illegal connections, and meter theft via 08038707271, 08094838885 or 08065030191.”
