Stakeholders in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State are currently meeting to strategise on how to secure a landslide victory for Governor Bassey Edet Otu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, holding on Thursday in Calabar at the residence of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, has brought together former council chairmen, the current Chairman of Etung Local Government Area, Hon. Henry Njar Anom, member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Kingsley Ntui Isong, Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, APC Chapter Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Ndum, and other critical stakeholders.

The stakeholders are brainstorming on strategies to consolidate support for the Otu administration and strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects in Etung ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the meeting, Agbor commended the former council chairmen for closing ranks with the current council leadership and other stakeholders in the interest of Etung and the re-election bid of Governor Otu.

He described their collaboration as a significant step towards securing victory for the Governor and other APC candidates, noting that Otu had been “very magnanimous” to the people of Etung.

Agbor called for continued unity and collective action among stakeholders, stressing the need to reciprocate the Governor’s support for the people through sustained mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
