APC Inaugurates Ward Chairmen in Etung, Rallies Grassroots Support for 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State has strengthened its grassroots political structure with the inauguration of 10 ward chairmen, as party leaders called for unity and intensified mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Etung Chapter Chairman of the party, Hon. Emmanuel Ndum, performed the inauguration on Wednesday at the Local Government Council Secretariat in Effraya, charging the newly sworn-in ward leaders to deepen grassroots engagement and consolidate support for the APC across all communities in the area.

Addressing party faithful at the event, Ndum emphasized that strong ward structures remain the backbone of the party’s electoral success, urging the new leaders to work diligently to build organic support capable of delivering a landslide victory for the APC in 2027.

The chapter chairman reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the state leadership of the party, stakeholders, and executives at both chapter and ward levels to strengthen party cohesion and reposition the APC for greater success.

“I am delighted to stand before you today as your chapter chairman. I will continue to work closely with our party leadership in the state, as well as stakeholders and executives at the chapter and ward levels, to ensure that Etung delivers one hundred percent support for our party in the next general elections,” he said.

Ndum further assured the ward chairmen of fairness and inclusiveness in the administration of party affairs, pledging to operate an open-door leadership style that will encourage collaboration and unity among party members.

Also speaking, the Leader of the Etung Legislative Council, Hon. Ojong ThankGod, urged the ward chairmen to intensify grassroots mobilization and encourage new members to join the party, noting that expanding the party’s base would strengthen its chances of delivering victory for all APC candidates in future elections.

Responding on behalf of the ward chairmen, Comrade Atu Alfred, who also emerged as Chairman of the Forum of Ward Chairmen in Etung, expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in them.

He pledged that the ward chairmen would work closely with the chapter leadership to strengthen the party’s structures at the grassroots and promote unity among members.

“This responsibility is a call to greater service. We will work tirelessly to strengthen our party at the grassroots, promote unity among members, and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and success of the APC in Etung,” he said.

The oath of office and oath of allegiance were administered to the ward leaders by the Council’s Legal Adviser, Barr. Daniel Mgbe, formally inaugurating them as heads of the party’s ward structures.

The ceremony was well attended by party leaders, local government officials, party stalwarts, and well-wishers from across Etung, reflecting the growing unity and renewed momentum within the APC in the area.
