C'River Education Commissioner, RMAFC Team Validate Student Enrollment Records in Statewide Visit

As part of a national initiative to enhance data-driven planning and policy execution in Nigeria’s education sector, a verification team from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Abuja, has visited selected schools in Cross River State to assess and validate student enrollment records.

The delegation, led by the Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Adi Odey, and accompanied by the State Accountant-General, Dr. (Mrs.) Glory Tony Effiong, included officials from RMAFC headquarters in Abuja headed by Mrs. Victoria.

The team conducted on-site verifications at the West African People’s Institute (WAPI), St. Augustine Primary School, and NYSC Model Secondary School, where they reviewed previously submitted educational data and evaluated recent institutional developments.

Speaking during the exercise, Senator Odey explained that the verification is part of a nationwide program to reconcile educational statistics collected from schools across the country.

He underscored that precise enrollment figures and up-to-date school records are fundamental to effective educational planning, equitable resource distribution, and sound policy formulation.

“We are here to review your records, confirm the data previously collected, and assess developments that have taken place since then. We deeply appreciate your cooperation and support throughout this process,” the Commissioner stated.

School administrators welcomed the delegation and praised the Ministry of Education for its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

They assured the team of their full cooperation and pledged to provide all relevant records and documents to facilitate a seamless verification process.

During the visits, the team scrutinized current enrollment statistics—including gender distribution—alongside historical enrollment data. School authorities presented the requested documentation for thorough examination by the verification team.

This exercise reaffirms the Cross River State Government’s dedication to ensuring the availability of accurate and reliable educational data for planning, monitoring, and evaluating interventions designed to improve learning outcomes across the State.

Furthermore, the visit highlights the Ministry of Education’s ongoing drive under Senator Professor Stephen Adi Odey’s leadership to promote accountability, strengthen data management systems, and support informed decision-making throughout the state’s education sector.C'River Education Commissioner, RMAFC Team Validate Student Enrollment Records in Statewide Visit
