Governor Senator Bassey Otu of Cross River State has approved the formation of the Cross River State Electoral Commission (CROISEC), following increasing calls for local government elections. The announcement was made via a release from the governor’s chief press secretary, Mr. Nsa Gill.
The eight-member commission will be led by Mr. Ebong Edet Bocco as Chairman, with Dr. Lawrence Edu Esq serving as Secretary. Other members include Mr. Adoga Joseph Ipuole, Eutendala Eno, Barr. Daniel Edet, Dr. Eyo Otu Eyo, and Jerry Adie Akabisong. The commission’s appointment is pending confirmation by the state house of assembly.
