The Cross River State Ministry of Justice has noted public concern regarding the pace of prosecution in Charge No. HM/9C/2022 – Inspector General of Police v. Uchenna Peter Chinweikpe and Valentine Alloysius (aka My Father My Father).
Following an internal review ordered by the Honourable Attorney-General, the Ministry confirms that the case has been reassigned to Court 2 of the Ikom Division of the Cross River State High Court and is actively progressing.
The Attorney-General has directed the Director of Public Prosecutions to take over the matter for effective handling and has also liaised with the Commissioner of Police to ensure the arrest of other suspects still at large.
The Ministry assures the family of the late Princewill Igbunaju Ikenna and the general public that justice will be pursued diligently and without delay.
