CRSG fixes fees, dates for compulsory exams for all administrative, professional officers

The Government of Cross River State through the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, has fixed compulsory examination dates for all administrative and professional officers in the State Civil and Public Service.

This was disclosed in an Establishments Circular No. 1/2024, with reference number: CR/METP/TRD/S.32/VOL.XXI/1, signed by Barr. Peter S. Bisong, Permanent Secretary for Commissioner on 20th August 2024.

The circular which was addressed to the Hon. Speaker, Hon. Chief Judge, all ll Commissioners/Special Advisers, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Head of Service, the Chief of Staff, all Chairmen of Commissions and Boards, all Permanent Secretaries/Heads of MDAs, the Clerk of the House of Assembly, the Accountant-General/Auditors-General (State & Local Government), the Head of Personal Staff to the Deputy Governor, all Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments, and all Heads of Local Government Councils, mandates those qualified for the examination to pay the sum of N5,000. Below is the directive of the circular:

2024 COMPULSORY EXAMINATION FOR ADMINISTRATIVE/PROFESSIONAL OFFICERS IN CROSS RIVER STATE CIVIL/PUBLIC SERVICE

I have directive to inform you that the above Examination is a core Service requirement for Career Progression in the Officers’ Cadre of both the State and Local Government Service.

In view of the above, a COMPLETE PASS in the examination is mandatory for all candidates who sit for the exams.

Eligibility for the examination is a First Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent and the candidate must be on Salary Grade Level 08 or above.

Please note that this examination is stipulated under Rule No. 02302, Cross River State Public Service Rules, 2004.

Officers are, however, required to write and pass other professional/prescribed examinations appropriate to their Cadre in Service.

METHOD OF REGISTRATION

Candidates are to register for the Examination with the sum of N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) only, paid into the State Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Government Account as follows:

  • Agency: Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions
  • Payment Item: Compulsory Examination fees
  • Revenue Code: 402107

Receipt of payment from Internal Revenue Service is retained by the candidate, while photocopy is submitted for documentation at First Floor, Room 7, Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions.

The proposed date and time of the Examination is Thursday, 21st – to Friday, 22nd November 2024, at 8 am daily.

EXAMINATION CENTRES

a. Calabar Centre:- for candidates in Bakassi, Akpabuyo, Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Odukpani, Akamkpa and Biase Councils.

b. Ikom Centre:- for candidates in Yakurr, Abi, Obubra, Ikom, Boki, Yala, Etung, Bekwarra, Obudu, Ogoja and Obanliku, Councils.

VENUE OF EXAMINATION

i. Calabar Centre: Management Development Institute (MDI), Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar.

ii. Ikom Centre: Government Secondary School (GOVISCO), Ikom.
